• CAF CL -Wydad storm into final after beating USM Alger

    Walid El Kharti touched home from close range in the first half together with a brace from Achraf Bencharki sent 2011 finalists Wydad Casablanca to the final of the 2017 CAF Champions League final.

    Moroccan champions Wydad Casablanca are through to the CAF Champions League final for the first time since 2011 after overwhelming Algeria’s USM Alger 3-1 in the semi-final second leg.

    Following a 0-0 draw in Algeria,ten man Wydad took charge on home soil as Walid El Karti and Achraf Bencharki struck either side of half-time.

    Ayoub Abdellaoui pulled one back for the visitors at the hour mark but winger Bencharki added his second in stoppage time to seal a showdown with either Etoile du Sahel or Ah Ahly who are set to clash tonight in Alexandria

    Despite the hosts having Amine Attouchi sent off for a second bookable offense ,the Moroccans had already set their eyes on the final spot in a capacity crowd at the Mohammed V stadium.
